Accessibility statement

How accessible this website is, what we are improving, and how to get information in a way that works for you.

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use this website, find what they need and get in touch with us easily, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification or voice control, and people with cognitive, visual, hearing or motor impairments.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This supports our duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments, and the FCA Consumer Duty expectation that our communications and channels do not create barriers for customers, including customers in vulnerable circumstances.

How accessible this website is

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA. In September 2026 we reviewed the site against WCAG 2.2 AA and made these improvements:

• A phone-friendly header on every page, so every section of the site can be reached on a small screen (a menu button on the main pages; links that wrap onto two rows on guide pages)
• Colour contrast raised so body text, labels and our regulatory information meet the AA contrast ratio
• A “skip to content” link for keyboard and screen reader users
• Menus that can be opened and closed with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
• Reduced motion for people who set that preference on their device

Known issues we are working on

• A small number of older reference pages still need scrolling sideways on a phone, usually because of a wide table. We are fixing these as we find them.
• Some decorative graphics may be announced by screen readers.
• Policy documents and wordings produced by insurers are sometimes PDFs that are not fully accessible. We can provide the information another way (see below).
• Some features rely on JavaScript, such as the premium rate guide on the homepage.
• Third-party content such as review widgets, the cookie consent banner and insurer portals is not fully under our control.
