Apex in the community

Apex Insurance Brokers is a Bristol-based independent broker, but a broker is really only as good as the communities it’s part of. This page sets out the community work we support and why.

We’ve kept it deliberately small and specific. We’d rather do one thing properly than spread a community budget so thinly that nobody notices it. What we support has a personal connection to someone at Apex, which we think is the right test for community work that’s meant to mean something.

Our sponsorship: youth football in Barrow-in-Furness

Our community partnership is a kit sponsorship of a youth football team in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.

The team

The club is volunteer-run: coaches, parents and committee members give their time week in, week out so that local children get a season of football.

What we do

Apex sponsors the team’s match kit. Our logo appears on the shirts the players wear on matchday. We also contribute to associated kit and training costs by agreement with the club committee each season.

We don’t run the team, we don’t pick the side, and we don’t claim any role in their results. That’s the volunteers’ work, not ours.

The personal connection

Apex’s director grew up in Barrow-in-Furness. The sponsorship started when a family connection mentioned the club was looking for a kit partner; it became a way to put something tangible back into that community while running a business several hundred miles away.

Apex does not republish photographs of identifiable children from the team on its own channels. The visuals used on this page are limited to:

• Apex-commissioned kit hero shots (kit on a hanger or laid out, no people in shot).
• Wide ground / pitch shots taken from a distance, no identifiable faces.
• Apex brand graphics (logo, illustrated match-card style assets).
• Photographs of our director alone at a ground.

How we choose what to support

We get more sponsorship and donation requests than we can act on. The framework we apply is straightforward:

• There’s a real connection between the cause and someone at Apex — not a generic corporate match.
• The money is small enough to matter to the recipient and not so large that it distorts how they operate.
• We can sustain the commitment over multiple years, not a one-off.
• It doesn’t conflict with our regulatory obligations. As an FCA-authorised firm we can’t, for example, sponsor anything that could be characterised as an inducement to a client or prospect.
